Learning Outcomes of the Course : Informs, discusses the importance of early childhood education curriculum and compares and differentiates it from the 2006 curriculum
Knows and elaborates on the importance of planning for early childhood education curriculum
Prepares appropriate plans based on the outcomes and indicators specified in the early childhood education curriculum
Plans child centered activities to support development
Evaluates the monthly plan, daiily plan and planned activities
Knows, informs and discusses the importance of family involvement and family education in early childhood education
Executes activities related to family involvement and family education in early childhood education settings

Aim(s) of Course : This course combines a theoretical and experiential investigation of curriculum for preschool children. It emphasizes the roles of the teacher as practitioner, observer, collaborator, facilitator, and organizer.This coursealso aims to enhance the ability of the teacher candidates to know, describe and explore the updated Turkish preschool curriculum (MEB Okul Öncesi Eğitim Programı), to plan developmentally appropriate activities for children, plan monthly plans, apply the planned activities and evaluate them.

Course Contents : Introduction to preschool curriculum and its appendices, family involvement activities in early childhood education, planning a monthly educational plan, daily educational activities, developmentally appropriate practice and assessment.
