About the Programme |

The Department of Turkish Education aims to train teachers who have wide knowledge about the phenomenon of a language in general, of Turkish language in particular; who can express his/her emotions, thoughts, and knowledge either verbally or in writing; equipped with superior teaching skills; self-confident; successful in social relationships and who are proficient enough to help their students improve their reading, listening, speaking, writing skills and grammar knowledge. |

In Turkish Higher Education Institutions, the acknowledgment of the Bachelor´s diploma for a university is organized with the regulations related to double majors and subspeciality and the transition between Associate Degree programs and undergraduate program. To be successful in this program, students are required to successfully complete all the courses to meet a minimum of 240 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum of GPA of 2.00/4.00. |

Profile of the Programme |

This program aims to train Turkish teachers who have comprehended the requirements of their profession as teachers and the importance of their roles in the developmental process of Turkish Society; have ethical responsibility; consider personal and professional development as a way of life; think scientifically; can use information technology, creative and critical thinking skills and pedagogical knowledge; communicate effectively with students; be respectful to the principles of Atatürk, the founder of Turkish Republic, and have a democratic attitude. The aim of the department is to train Turkish teachers who know the function of the language with its components of the developmental stages in the history of Turkish and modern Turkish dialects, who have realized the importance of language in human life with respect to the expressional richness of Turkish language and are capable of transmitting it; master the basic Turkish sound, shape, sentence and text patterns; are knowledgeable about all the stages of Turkish literature and the leading literary people; can use the four basic language skills effectively and practice the methods and techniques to help students use these skills. |

Occupational Profile of Graduates |

Our graduates can be employed by various public and private educational institutions governed by the Ministry of National Education and in organizations teaching Turkish to foreigners. They can also work as Turkish teachers in state archives and other different areas, especially in press release. |

Access to Further Studies |
: |
The graduates of this program are eligible to apply for admission to graduate studies in same field or related areas if they pass the evaluation process designated according to the regulations of “Çukurova University Graduate Education and Examination Committee”, which includes ALES, general point of average, and the interview. |

Graduation Requirements |

To be able to finish undergraduate degree, students must complete all courses, applications and workshops that are included in the program, gain two hundred and forty (240) ECTS credit requirements in total in undergraduate level and obtain a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00. |
