The content of the concepts of religion, sect, religious community and sufi order; The reasons behind the differentiation of religious understanding; The manifestations of the earliest Islamic sects in todays Turkey; Historical foundations of the Turkish-Islamic concept; The main factors that shape today´s Islamic thought; The effects of globalization, urbanization, immigration etc. on Islamic sects; The Islamic sects, sufi orders, religious communities in existence tin Turkey; Islamic Modernism and the thought of Islamism; Religious education and theology faculties in Turkey; the contemporary scientific studies on the history of Islamic sects in Turkey |
