Aim(s) of Course : The purpose of this course is to provide the students with creating a unique language in drawing and having students comprehend the idea of a basic discipline at the stage of creating an illustration, developing and animating the idea.

Course Contents : In the scope of this course, the student who takes the course of traditional design education makes applications about the mobilization of the figures in order to contribute to the courses of illustration and animation which are different fields in application of graphic design. A person, who acquired observation, analysis, synthesis and systematic thinking skills by design education, reflects this competence in all areas of plastic arts. Design education increases the level of people’s perception and reflection of what they see. This level allows the applications that are also applied in the other fields of graphical design to be successful. Illustration and animation are some of these other fields of graphical design. The process of designers’ educating their eyes by drawing patterns paves the way to make works with higher aesthetic concerns. In the animation, which is named as the illustration art and which can be defined as the interpretation of an idea, a form or feeling with the illustration technique, the design education plays a dominant role during the process of character design creation. In the scope of this lesson, person imagines a figure as three-dimensional, draws it on a two-dimensional surface and creates a three-dimensional effect and this shows the importance of the technical design course/education.
