Knows the definition of concept Describes the properties of concept Describes the theories of concept formation Illustrates the role of classification and abstraction in concept formation Knows the content items of concept Makes concept analysis Explains how conceptual development occurs in children and describes the theories of concept development Knows what the misconception is, how it occurs, what are the misconceptions frequently encountered in pre-school children and presents recommendations for preventing misconceptions Knows what categorization is and which categorization types the children use in preschool period Plans activities for teaching different categories to children in preschool period

The aim of the course is providing the students´ knowledge and experience about the definition,characteristics, and classification of concept, effective factors in the development of the concept in early childhood period and different approaches and methods in concept teaching. |
