Aim(s) of Course : One of the important problems in the cultivation of vegetable is pest problems. For successful pest control, recognition, distribution, ecological requirements, biology should be known very well. In addition damage, organ damage, economical losses because of the pest, the cost of the control methods and other factors which effects pest control and the natural enemies of the pest species should be discussed. All these issues are the subject of this lecture. This course is arranged in an order according to plant pests.

Course Contents : Nowadays the organic and integrated farming of vegetables (tomato, pepper, eggplant, zucchini, melon, watermelon, cucumber, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, etc.) is very popular in terms of the environment and human health. In this point of view invertebrate and other animal pest species should be well understood and managed under IPM principles.
