Characteristics of surface waters and groundwater, water quality detoriation, water sampling, sample preservation, chemical and physical water analyses, microbiological analyses, sediment measurements, biological monitoring. |
|
Course Contents |
: |
Measurement of the physical and chemical parameters of water bodies such as temperature, pH, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, salinity, nutrients, heavy metals, pesticides and some other possible anthropogenic impacts over a period of time in order to find out their effects on water plants and animals. Determining the biological abundance and variety of aquatic life, monitoring changes in water quality over time and acting on significant changes in quality are considered. |
