Develops aesthetic feeling,can question and make comparisons Can interpret the architecture of Ottoman Empire within the cultural, political and economic domains. Understands the concept of "Ottoman architecture", and distinguishes and identifies the works in this context Knows and expresses with reasons why architectural buildings are cultural icons Identifies and classifies different building types together with their features of that period.

Aim(s) of Course |
: |
The aim of this course is to give students a general knowledge of the culture of Ottoman architectural History. Development of Ottoman Architecture from the beginning to early 20th century is covered. While examining the architectural heritage which is a concrete symbol of culture, the semantic features attributed to buildings are analysed as well as the social, cultural and political environment which has formed them.
