Aim(s) of Course : To explain the role of the political problems in the rise and embodiment of the Islamic sects throughout the early history of Islam; To examine the principal views of Islamic sects on Imamate / Caliphate

Course Contents : The relationship between religion and politics throughout the history; Islam´s approach to political issues; The first political conflicts in Islamic history; The first political problems and the rise of creedal problems; Attitude of early Muslims on Imamate / Caliphate and the first applications; The analysis of the period of fourth caliph according to the history of Islamic sects; The role of politiical events in the rise of sects
