Learning Outcomes of the Course : Explains the purpose of Department of History of Islamic Sects, as well as its importance and relationship with other disciplines
Analyzes the variations in understanding of religion with a supra-sectarian approach
Has a konowledge of methods and techniques used in the field of History of Islamic Sects
Determines the main research fields of the history of Islamic sects
Identifies, classifies and assesses the major sources of History of Islamic Sects
Analyzes Islamic sects according to their intellectual structure
Identifies main problems of Department of History of Islamic Sects
Defines the concept of sect, and emphasizes the differences between political-creedal and jurisprudence sects

Aim(s) of Course : To provide students with the ability to conduct researches at an academic level in accordance with scientific criteria in the field of the history of Islamic sects

Course Contents : The methods and techniques followed by the researchers of history of Islamic sects; source materials and their properties; main concepts of the history of Islamic sects; Historiography of Islamic sects throughout history; Sectarian typologies according to their mindset; Literature on the history of Islamic sects
