Analyzes the variations in the understanding of religion with a supra-sectarian approach Explains the reasons behind the rise of the sects Explains the formation process of Islamic sects as Kharijiyya, Murjia, Mutazila and Shia Explains the position of the Islamic sects within the larger frame of Islamic thought Knows, classifies and assesses the major sorces of History of Islamic Sects Analyzes the period of Four Caliphs and Umayyad in terms of the Department of History of Islamic Sects Knows the purpose and functions of historiography of Islamic sects in the early Islamic history
