  Programme Information
About the Programme : The department of Civil Engineering was established in 1978 and started education in 1979. The undergraduate program covers the topics of general civil engineering subjects. Since 1992, the department has been offering evening classes. The department has an administration floor and two laboratory buildings. In these two laboratory buildings, construction materials, soil mechanics, structural mechanics, hydraulics and topography labs are available and laboratory facilities are improving day by day. Theoretical and applied research is carried out particularly in the fields of structural mechanics, wave mechanics, construction materials, coastal engineering and water structures. In addition, the department of Civil Engineering of Cukurova University has the Certificate of Authority to identify the constructions under risk under law No. 6306. 

Qualification Awarded : The students who have successfully accomplished this program gain the master’s degree of Advanced Civil Engineering Subjects. 

Level of Qualification : Second Cycle (Master’s Degree) 

Specific Admission Requirements : The students can apply to this program providing ALES score, grade point averages and interview in accordance with the regulations of “Çukurova University Graduate Education and Examination Committee” and can pursue their education in their or in related fields.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning : Recognition of previous learning in this programme is implemented according to the rules and regulations of Çukurova University Social, Health and Science Institutes.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations : In order to graduate from this programme, the students are required to successfully complete all the courses with a minimum average grade point of 3.00 out of 4.00. 

Profile of the Programme : The purpose of this program is to teach Master degree students the subjects in a discipline of their choice at an advanced level and it is also aimed to teach how to design safe constructions compatible with the environment improving the quality of life standards of individuals. Furthermore, planning, leading and constructing construction works is another objective. In addition, it is aimed to educate graduates by developing and conducting research in the Department of Ciivil Engineering. Another aim of this program is to train qualified and certificated engineers by continuously providing innovative methods.

Occupational Profile of Graduates : The graduates of this program have a wide variety of fields of employment including almost all public sectors and private institutions. Our graduates can work as technical staff, researchers or managers in many fields.  

Access to Further Studies : The graduates of this program are eligible to apply for admission to obtain a PhD degree in their or related fields if they pass the evaluation process designated according to the “Regulations of Çukurova University Graduate Studies”, which includes a required ALES score and an adequate English language proficiency.
