About the Programme |

Fisheries Engineering Program; at the end of a four year undergraduate education program, the students graduate as "Fisheries Engineer" including the authority and responsibilities related to aquatic biodiversity, water resources and coastal zone management, aquaculture, breeding and management, diseases in aquaculture and fish health management, fishing technology, fisheries management and technology, the quality and safety of aquatic products and fish processing technology. Cukurova University, Faculty of Fisheries Engineering degree program being carried out in a single program, theoretical and practical courses are given within the scope of fisheries science and engineering formation. There is also a summer practice. The first graduates of Faculty of Fisheries Fisheries Engineering Program was in 1993, so far large number of qualified engineers which were employed in public and private sector were graduated. |

Profile of the Programme |

The Education Program of Fisheries Engineering include theoretical and practical courses in the fields of marine and inland water biology, aquaculture and diseases, fishing and seafood processing technology and a summer practice (thirty days). Students are required to take technical and nontechnical elective courses at the rate of twenty five percent of 240 ECTS. Freshwater Fish Research and Application Station located in the campus and Marine Fish Research and Application Station in Yumurtalık district are provided. Our Faculty have two research vessels, one of them is Marine research vessel with 24 meter lenght is used in Iskenderun Bay and the other one is used in Seyhan Dam Lake. Practical courses and training activities are carried out in the marine and freshwater research stations and faculty laboratories. So that, our students gain experience in the field by doing practice, By this way, students are provided all the well educational possibilities for their graduation. Also, "Scuba Diving" training course is given to the students and they are provided the opportunity to get "Diving Certificate". |

The graduates of this program are eligible to apply for admission to graduate studies in same field or related areas if they pass the evaluation process designated according to the regulations of “Çukurova University Graduate Education and Examination Committee”, which includes ALES, general point of average, and the interview. |

To be able to finish undergraduate degree, students must complete all courses, applications and workshops that are included in the program, gain two hundred and forty (240) ECTS credit requirements in total in undergraduate level and obtain a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00. |
