About the Programme |

Guidance and Psychological Couseling bachelor´s degree program consists of theoretical and practice based courses in interpersonal relationships, helping skills, individual and group counseling techniques, psychological assessment techniques, psychopathology, research methods and behavioral sciences, and one weekly half-day internship experiences at schools for two terms. |

Profile of the Programme |

The aim of Guidance and Psychological Couseling bachelor´s degree program is to train students in theoretical knowledge and practical skills in counseling area. Students in this program are trained in interpersonal relationships, helping skills, individual and group counseling techniques, psychological assessment techniques, psychopathology, research methods and behavioral sciences. Having completed this program, students gain competencies necessary for working in institutions such as education, health, social welfare services, industry and justice. In addition to equip graduates with professional competencies, the program also aims to educate students to follow ethical and universal principals, to be a role model and to continue their professional and personal development during their career. Guidance and Psychological Couseling department has a counseling center aimed to provide educational and counseling services. In this center students do their guidance practices, individual and group counseling practices and attend some practice based courses. The program prepares students to work especially school settings by placing school counseling courses and practices in curriculum. Through some courses and practices in the program, students are supported to enhance their knowledge and skills as well as their personal development. Students also get help from counseling center for their personal needs and problems. |

The graduates of this program are eligible to apply for admission to graduate studies in same field or related areas if they pass the evaluation process designated according to the regulations of “Çukurova University Graduate Education and Examination Committee”, which includes ALES, general point of average, and the interview. |
