About the Programme |

The Department of Interior Architecture was founded in 1994 with the aim of educating highly-qualified designers and artists. In 1999, the department became a part of the Faculty of Fine Arts and in 2000, its scope was expanded by accepting undergraduate students. Bachelor´s degree lasts four years. The Institute of Social Sciences offers a two-year master´s program as well as four-year education in proficieny in art in collaboration with the departments of Interior Architecture of other universities. Our program consists of courses, workshops, sketches, seminars, internships, other studies, study trips and a graduation project. The language of instruction in Turkish.

In Turkish Higher Education Institutions, the acknowledgment of the Bachelor´s diploma for a university is organized with the regulations related to double majors and subspeciality and the transition between Associate Degree programs and undergraduate program. To be successful in this program, students are required to successfully complete all the courses to meet a minimum of 240 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum of GPA of 2.00/4.00. |

Profile of the Programme |

The department aims to develop students´ critical thinking, artistic and stylistic research, adaptation to cooperation with close disciplines, design skills in line with their personal abilities while designing for the needs of individuals or societies in private and/or shared environments. Within the architectural integrity of buildings, Interior Architecture is an organization as it considers human factor, physiological, ergonomic, psychological values and plans in accordance with socio-economic criteria and theories of scientic, artistic and technical content. This organization forms when structure, volume, function, individual, society along with shape, color, material, technique, time, economy and scientific theories, artistic and technical content integrate with knowledge, skill and design ability. During their education, students prepare for the profession by developing their design skills through vision, perception, thinking, analysis, examination, developing ideas, application, research and comparing methods along with methods of analysis and synthesis, theoretical expression, and practical applications.The program continues in two subprograms; Interior Architecture-Environmental Design and Interior Architecture-Furniture Design with balanced weight of courses.

Occupational Profile of Graduates |
: |
Graduates of the Department of Interior Architecture can work in the public sector such as municipalities, ministries, universities or interior design firms, companies designing and marketing furniture; or as interior architects in the headquarters of organizations such as banks or shops which operate on branch system. In addition, some of our graduates can establish their own design firms. |

Access to Further Studies |

The graduates of this program are eligible to apply for admission to graduate studies in same field or related areas if they pass the evaluation process designated according to the regulations of “Çukurova University Graduate Education and Examination Committee”, which includes ALES, general point of average, and the interview. |

To be able to finish undergraduate degree, students must complete all courses, applications and workshops that are included in the program, gain two hundred and forty (240) ECTS credit requirements in total in undergraduate level and obtain a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00. |
