Aim(s) of Course : To analyse artistic productions and stylistic characteristics of the civilisations from pre-historic times to AD 5th century.

Course Contents : This course mainly deals with the formation of the universe, the appearence of the first man and the evolution of primitive communities into a civilised society. In this course, students are given information about Paleolithic, Neolithic, Chalcolithic periods, their modes of production, belief systems and the reflections of those on art activities. They are also informed about the contributions of Mesopotamian, Hittite, Creatan, Greek, Roman and Anatolian civilisations to history of the mankind.
