Learning Outcomes of the Course : 1. Explains the basic concepts of social psychology and the theories related to these concepts. (theories about social influence, conformity, attitudes, attitude formation)
2. Distinguishes the main differences between social psychology, sociology and psychology, and defines and explains each one.
3. Outlines the basic works in the history of the development of social psychology and identifies the names of the people who contributed to this discipline.
4. Describes the methods and techniques used in research in social psychology.
5. Analyzes the elements of the person which is a factor in the socialization process.
6. Integrates and reaches generalizations about how impact social influence,group processes, culture and society on personality and self development.
7. Evaluates the social influence on person´s attitude and behavior.
8. Makes an explanation and analysis about attitude, propaganda and process of attitude change.

Aim(s) of Course : The goals of this course are to (a) improve an understanding of social psychological explanations for social influence and interaction and to (b) to improve an understanding of the research methodologies commonly used to understand social influence and interaction.

Course Contents : This course offers a broad introduction to social psychology, the scientific study of human social influence and interaction. We will explore the various ways people think about, affect, and relate to one another. The course will cover topics such as the research in social psychology, group influences on person behavior, persuasion, attitudes, social cognition and interpersonal relationships etc..
