Learning Outcomes of the Course : Contributes to social reform in a variety of ways by means of social criticism and practice.
Knows that a better understanding of a particular set of social conditions often gives us a chance to manage these conditions.
Knows that increasing cultural sensibilities is a means to determine policies which are aware of the existence of different cultural values.
Examines the results of adopting a specific policy program (desired-undesired).
Recognizes that groups and individuals have the possibility of self-illumination by increasing opportunities to change their living conditions.

Aim(s) of Course : This course aims to give a a critical review of the social institutions and human social behavior. There are alternative views to understand human nature and the relationship between an individual´s social world. However, this course aims to show how compatible sociology works with other disciplines such as especially history, politics, and law while investigating a specific historical and modern social issue.

Course Contents : The course will cover definition, scope, methods and research techniques of sociology; social organization; culture- socialization; groups; stratification; demography and the concepts related to social change.
