Learning Outcomes of the Course |

1.Understands the change process of world architecture between 17th and 21st centuries. 2. Gains sensitivity on the basic knowledge and meaning of the architectural and artistic heritage before and after the industrial revolution. 3. Gains interest in changing design principles, and relates industrialization with construction of a building. 4. Analyzes the semantic link between 20th century art and architecture and the culture that created them. 5. Clarifies the relationships among society, culture, geography and architecture in architectural design. 6. Gains interest in changing design principles, creates the relationships between time, place and the local components with constructing a building from the 17th to 21st century. 7. Understands the complexity of contemporary architectural designs, creates new methods and designs from critical interpretations.

In accordance with the teachings of the history of architecture, this course presents design theories in the process of ´Baroque Period, the Industrial Revolution and the 20th Much Century Art Flows´, . While analyzing the effects of modernization and industrialization in the context of architecture, it is aimed to get students comprehend the relation of architectural production with social, political and technical values. |
