Learning Outcomes of the Course : A student can operate peripheral blood smear and staining techniques, bone marrow smear and staining techniques, special staining techniques and can evaluate the results.
A student can perform CBC and reitcs counts.

Aim(s) of Course : When students finish PH-500 Course, they will gain the knowledge about blood cells, liquid phase of the blood, the differentation of stem cells from bone marrow red blood cells, leucocytes, platelets.They will also learn which patophysiological changes effect the laboratory tests and they will learn to differ pathological cases from normal ;they will use laboratory tools and they will have command on possible issues.

Course Contents : The principles of hematological examination, bone marrow development and differentiation of bone marrow cells, red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, the structure and synthesis of hemoglobin, iron metabolism, hemoglobin disorders and laboratory diagnosis, the thalassemias and laboratory dianosis, erythrocytic enzymopathies and laboratory diagnosis, platelets, Vitamine B12 metabolism , the laboratory diagnosis of Vitamin B12 deficiency, folate metabolism, the laboratory diagnosis of folate deficiency.

Language of Instruction : Turkish

Work Place : The Seminar Halls and laboratories of Pediatric Hematology Department .
