Aim(s) of Course : Contemporary Ceramics Art History helps the students interpret the ceramic materials with a perspective connecting the content and form, during the journey of ceramics through art history, focusing on the examples produced after 1960.

Course Contents : This course introduces contemporary ceramic artists and their works.

4 The place, where the contemporary ceramics stand within the evolution it underwent from the beginning of 1960s, will be assessed. - The works produced in the frame of modernism/postmodernism. 5 Starting from 1960s, the contemporary ceramic art, influenced by the prevailing movements within the general art environment will be introduced – Examples will be given and interpreted.
