Learning Outcomes of the Course : Recognizes the basic concepts and theories of management and nursing administration.
Understands the nursing service management, philosophy and standards.
Evaluates the current status of Nursing Services Management in accordance with the modern management principles.
Knows the duties, powers and responsibilities of Nursing Services Management and explains job descriptions to the nursing staff
Can compare the properties of management and leadership and knows the importance of leadership for the success of management
Offers solutions and determine action steps to at least one administrative problem in hospital or clinic by using problem analysis technique.
Defines the relationship between nursing management and change management, time management, information technology management.
Explains the importance of communication and motivation in management.
Analyzes the ethical and legal issues in health care management systems.
Plans and implements training by identifying the needs of in-service training of nursing services.
Knows and applies the methods of manpower planning in nursing services.
Knows and applies the principles of performance evaluation in nursing services.
Knows and follows the laws and regulations related to nursing.
Recognizes the national and international professional organizations, explains the objectives of the organizations.
Uses the principles of Total Quality Management in nursing services

Aim(s) of Course : The aim of the course is to train nurses who are aware of the basic concepts, theories and principles of administration and management of nursing services; improve the efficiency and quality of nursing services and offer the best nursing services of the day; gain the required knowledge, skills and attitudes to be an administrator.

Course Contents : In this course, management concepts and theories, management process (data collection, planning, organizing, directing and controlling), administration in nursing services, nursing organizational chart creation, making nursing job analysis and job descriptions of nursing preparation, nurse manpower planning, making the organization of patient care, monitoring the performance of nursing service/maintenance at service, performance evaluation of nurses will be discussed.
