Learning Outcomes of the Course : Define the concepts and terminology used in oncology nursing.
Define oncological diseases, epidemiology, etiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment methods.
Know the factors that affect the oncology patient care and perform patient care in line with theoretical knowledge acquired in a holistic approach.
Make evidence-based nursing practice for oncological diseases.
Provide health services to prevent cancer.
Provide education and counseling to cancer patients in order to help them care for themselves.
Use effective communication skills during the care of cancer patients.
Make teamwork for the care of oncology patients.

Aim(s) of Course : In this course, students of oncology nursing learn the basic mechanism of cancer, signs and symptoms of cancer, methods of cancer treatment and side effects resulting from the problems of diagnosis and treatment of cancer and their families know and to plan nursing interventions aimed.

Course Contents : The basic mechanism of cancer, signs and symptoms of cancer, methods of cancer treatment and side effects resulting from the problems of diagnosis and treatment of cancer, the problems that the families of cancer patients encounter, and nursing interventions.
