Knows the developmental characteristics and educational needs of children with special needs , family support and co-operation by providing early education, distinguishes inclusive education and fullfills its responsibilities. |

Course Contents |
: |
Education of children with learning disabilities, emotional or behavioral disorders, attention deficit disorders, mild-moderate mental retardation, physical disabilities, and gifted children; overview of history, definitions, current issues, characteristics, theoretical perspectives, classroom management, and educational programming in special education. Definition and history of special education, definition of being handicapped. The principles of special education, educational management and integration in special education. Education of exceptional children: Children with mental retardation, learning disorders, speech disorders, adaptation and behavioral disorders, visual disorders, hearing disorders, physical disorders and gifted children. Education of parents with exceptional children. The special education system in world and Turkey.
