Compares the phenotypic and genotypic methods of surveillance of outbreaks

Aim(s) of Course : Providing information about epidemiological surveillance methods used to monitor movements of microorganisms that cause infectious diseases in the community.

Course Contents : Basic concepts and definitions used in the epidemiology of infectious diseases, epidemiological data sources, epidemiological criteria, goals of surveillance programs and their planning, basic surveillance methods, Group A,B,C and D diseases and notification systems and phenotypic and genotypic methods used in surveillance of infection-causing bacteria, viruses and fungi.
