Aim(s) of Course : Students will be able to learn about the characteristics of rural area like ( economic, social, culture life) and comperehend the reasons of underdevelopment and how to correct with a theoritical and analytic sight

Course Contents : Underdevelopment problem; Economic growth, development and wealth concepts; traditional theories of growth and development; measurement of development, main characteristics of underdeveloped countries; the role of agriculture in economic development; rural area and features; the importance of rural development, definition, principles and aims and elements; the role of agriculture in rural development, the situation in Turkey; rural development policies in the world and Turkey; globalization and rural development; rural development planning
