Learning Outcomes of the Course : 1.To learn, the women health and reproductive problems in all life stages, and learn pregnancy physiology and its problems.
2.To learn the most common gynecologic and pregnancy problems’ epidemiology, pathology, symptoms, signs and treatments.
3.To obtain patient history according to the problems, do the gynecologic and obstetrical examination . make an approach to the problems and plan the treatment.
4. Prepare patient file, do the recordings properly , learn to do prescription , can write epicrisis.
5.Can do family planning counseling, apply the contraceptives properly. Manage these methods properly.
6.Make pregnancy and labor follow-up. Identify the high risk pregnancies and do proper forwarding. Can do postpartum women care, understand the problems and manage properly.
8.Can make iv line, obtain venous and arterial blood samples, apply urinary catheter, do local and systematic medicine. Obtain cultures of cervical and vaginal discharge, ask for the tests properly and evaluate the results properly.
9.Evaluate the treatment necessity, plan the medical and non surgical treatments and apply it.
10.Make correct communication with the team with respect and love.
11.Make correct communication with patients with respect and love.

Aim(s) of Course : Educate interns to become a doctor, understanding women health’s biologic, psychologic, social concepts . Understands the common women and reproductive health problems and manages them. Follow the new technologies and knowledge, has analytic andcritical opinion competence and respects ethical aspects.

Course Contents : In the 6 th grade there is 6 weeks of Obstetrics and Gynecology Internship. This time covers obstetrics and gynecology ward, 2 weeks labor ward, 2 weeks obstetrics and gynecology out-patient clinic.The Intern gets the obstetrical and gynecological history of the patient, makes examination, follows up the patient, plans and does the treatment. Personally follows the patients in the clinic under supervision of the Professors and assistants. Attends the ward rounds, seminary, case discussions, newborn and oncology joint meetings, literature hour and weekly educational meetings. They have 2 days advanced Life support in Obstetrics course. Every intern prepares a presentation. Every day 3 interns are on duty (labor ward, gynecology clinic, obstetrics clinic). Every day 1 intern has a duty in Adana Maternity Hospital.
