Learning Outcomes of the Course : 1. Explains epidemiology, pathology, symptoms, signs, prognosis, and treatment of sorts of common infectious diseases
2. Knows the appropriate use of antimicrobials (dose, the action spectrum, the effect of side effects and drug interactions of reaction), taking into account the special circumstances that makes editing host factors
3. Knows the ways of transmission and prevention of infectious diseases, lists the methods of immunoprophylaxis
4. Select the diagnostic tests, makes the claim
5. Separation of patients treated in primary care could make or to ship, begins appropriate empirical antibiotic treatment of infectious diseases requiring emergency intervention.
6. Takes the story of the patient presenting with symptoms of high fever and infection, evaluates the patient in order to diagnose, makes the patient´s examination to detect signs of infection
8. Presents his/her patient, discusses with the group members, prepare at epicrisis.
9. Communicates patient and their relatives, gets informing skills, works with workmates in step with.
10. Acquire lifelong learning skills
11. Keeps records accurate and reliable data, analyzes, comments, and act in accordance with ethical principles for exchanging patient outcomes

Aim(s) of Course : It is aimed that year 5 students of Medical Faculty should diagnose diseases which can be frequently seen in the public and treat rationally those illnesses and redirect the patients with rare medical problems by using evidences with an interdisciplinary approach and integrating their knowledge and ability on medicine. Also, they should know the prevention and isolation techniques for transmissible diseases and the valid health system.

Course Contents : 1.Fever and management of the patient with fever 2.The principles and objectives of antimicrobial use 3.Etiology, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic adult meningitis 4.Types and treatment of viral and bacterial respiratory tract infections 5.Diagnosis and treatment of urinary tract infections 6.Diagnosis and treatment of urinary tract infections 7.Diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted disease 8.Diagnosis and treatment of reticuloendothelial system infections; malaria, brucellosis, EBV-CMV infections, toxoplasmosis, typhoid fever 9. General protection measures from infectious diseases and antimicrobial chemoprophylaxis ( passive and active immunization) 10.Clinic, treatment and prophylaxis of tetanus and rabies
