Selects the types of materials suitable for the job and determines the cross-sectional dimensions and sizes of the materials based on the mechanical properties.

Aim(s) of Course : To gain graduates the ability to solve the problems about strength of material.

Course Contents : Elasticity, Hooke´s law, strain, change of strain with the cross section (Mohr´s circle), shear force and bending moment of beams, bending of beams, elements are subjected to pressure and columns accounts, moment of inertia and resistance, support reactions, frames, trusses.
