Aim(s) of Course : To provide knowledge on basic concepts and issues related to political sciences; to construct relations between economy and policy; to discuss opinions and their justifications on state interferences to economy and agriculture; to evaluate the context, objectives, tools and effects of agricultural policies and policy applications in this respects taking global relations into consideration and help those concerned with their policy preferences.

Course Contents : Main concepts and issues; policy-economy relations; state and market interventions; goals and tools of economic policies; relations between tools and goals; decision making process; macroeconomic policies and agriculture; state subsidies in agriculture; subsidies and causes; scope, purpose, tools of agricultural and food policies; effective factors in choosing policy tools; relations between tools and goals; general and agricultural impacts of agricultural interventions; historical perspective of agricultural policies; agricultural structure, production, price, market, income, rural area oriented agricultural policies; current situation in the world and in Turkey; foreign trade policies; globalization and agricultural and food policies
