Student considers surrenal gland and its hormones´ properties
Student knows growth and properties of hormones which affect growth
Student knows intrauterine sexual differentiation
Student defines structure of male genital system and regards its function
Student defines structure of female genital system and regards its function
Student knows trigger factors which initiate adolescence period and puberty, and cause of menopause and occured changes in this period
Student knows properties of fertilization, pregnancy and delivery, and explains affecting factors which initiate lactation

Aim(s) of Course : Operational principles and properties of endocrine communication and properties and effects of secreted hormones are examined with integrative perspective.

Course Contents : Concept of hypothalamus-hypophysis-target organ, secreted hormones from hypothalamus and hypophysis and their effects; thyroid and parathryoid hormones and their functions; calcium and bone metabolism; adrenal cortex hormones and their effects; pancreas and its hormones; carbohydrate metabolism and affecting hormones; intrauterine sexual differentiation, female and male reproduction systems; fertilization, pregnancy and lactation.
