Knows which rhythms of voice are used in Turkish-Islamic poetry. Identifies and classifies the rhythms of voice. Learns how to use prosody and the rules about it. Comprehends and has knowledge of the importance of rhyme and word repetition as rhythms of voice in poems.

To introduce on sample texts the rhythms of voice (word repetition, alliteration, prosody, rhyme etc.) used in the Turkish-Islamic poetry. |

Course Contents |

Rhythms of voice in Turkish-Islamic poetry. Word repetition and its types. Usage of the unary word repetition and doubling in poems. Usage of the binary and triad word repetitions. Usage of the quad and fivefold word repetition. Giving some examples about alliteration and using alliteration in poems. Parallelism, harmony. Rhythm and rhythm makers. Prosody and how to use it. Practising the usage of prosody on some samples. Rhyme and the rules of rhyme. Factors affecting rhyme choice.
