Describes human and culture as historical, and interprets them at different levels within the context of social sciences. Discusses the place of culture in human life as part of other social sciences. Interprets the cultural effects of globalization. Relates culture to production-consumption Explains cultural identity as part of culturation,enculturation and acculturation. Interprets the environmet-culture relation and environmental problems as part of culture.

Aim(s) of Course |

The aim of the course is to focus on the concepts of culture, identity and ethnicity from an anthropological point of view and analyse them within the context of different variables. |

Course Contents |
: |
The following topics are in the scope of this course: human as a historical and biocultural being, the concept of culture, its origin, quality and process. Also, the concepts of popular, mass and public cultures will be focused on as well as other issues such as customs, values and globalization. |
