Learning Outcomes of the Course : Explains the basic conceptions related to the educational statistics
Comprehends the place and importance of statistics in the research process
Explains the difference between qualitative and quantitative research
Identifies the fundamental statistical techniques used in educational studies
Determines the suitable statistical techniques for the research problems
Computerizes the data.
Does the required statistical analysis from the processed data
Presents the statistical analysis results in relation with the research objectives using graphic or table
Makes comment on the statistical analysis results

Aim(s) of Course : The main purpose of this course is to help post-graduate students to acquire the skills and knowledge to use statistical methods in their research and, by developing literacy in this field, to help them interpret those studies which use statistical methods.

Course Contents : The course contains basic concepts of statistics applied to education and application of parametric and nonparametric techniques used in social sciences. These techniques are taught by using SPSS statistical software.
