Learning Outcomes of the Course : To be able to identify factors causing price fluctuation in agricultural commodities
to be able to make fundamental price analyses by employing economic theory and statistical techniques; to be able to interprete annual and seasonal changes in agricultural price commodities; to be able to make price forecasts
to be able to make technical price analyses and price forecasts by employing historical data and statistical techniques

Aim(s) of Course : Understanding factors affecting agricultural commodity prices; being able to annual and seasonal changes in prices; making future price estimations

Course Contents : Analysis of price movements in agricultural and food commodities; relations between agricultural commodity, related input prices and general price level, price indices and parities; derivative demand; supply response; classification and measurement of characteristic price movements; trends; seosonal fluctiations; conjunctural price movements; temporary and irregular price movements; relations between time series; qualitative analysis of supply and demand; vertically and horizontally related markets
