Acquires conceptual and theoretical information about urban identity Acquires conceptual and theoretical information about image of the city and the fundamental elements (such as roads, borders, regions, focuses and landmarks). Acquires information about methods followed in surveys so as to determine the spatial identity perception of the users. Has an application skills about how to reflect the results of user research for spatial identity perception to landscape designs. Has an information about the formations revealed by spatial relations with the knowledge and experience of urban identity in the historical periods.

Introduction and fundamental concepts, Ecological, social and economic characteristics of spatial identity formation in different periods, Image of the city and the fundamental elements which specify it such as roads, borders, regions, focuses and landmarks, The identity of urban space in the context of the relationship between buildings-open spaces and green spaces and relations-patterns, Continuity between structures and exterior spaces, hierarchy, and scale changes, Urban Texture; Urban Landscape, Building mass, Urban space, The walls of the city, The concept of the public space and authentic environment, Urban and environmental design concepts and theories of perceptual, visual and contextual concepts, Concepts regarding shape and space and approaches, new design methodologies, Urban sustainability and auditability of qualifications, Examine examples of the most versatile and queries, general evaluation and discussion. |

Introduction and fundamental concepts |
Sample project and reports carried out on the identity of urban space, questionnaires to determine the users´ perception of spatial identity, three-dimensional vizualization softwares for the spatial properties in user survey. |
The course will be conducted mutually with students by examining, scrutinizing and discussing the sample reports carried out on the identity of urban space ; doing a project related to the perception of spatial identity in a designated area as an independent or a group,
preparing a report about this topic ,and performing a mutual discussion in this context. |
