Understand the stages of science. Understand and interprent the importance of science in the place of human and social life. Comprehends the thoughts of his periods of science. Compares the current scientific thinking and understanding of science based on he historical story of science. Obtain information about the important scientists. Becomes conscious of the need for scientific way of thinking and understanding. Establishes a relationship between scientific thought and understanding and foreign language teaching / learning.

Aim(s) of Course |

Enable the students to acquire the knowledge on evolution of science since ancient civilization, the development in Mesopotamia, in ancient Egypt, in the Hellenistic period, Islamic times in the Ottoman period and to learn the development progress of astronomy, mathematics, physics, medicine, biology and the rest in that periods, in Renaissance and to recognize the progress of scientific and technical development in 19th and 20th century, to follow the scientific and technical developments until today. |

Learn about the meaning of science in detail, its significance, methods and the scope and the structure of the History of Science and the scientific studies to provide an understanding of evolutionfrom the beginning to the present. |
