Learning Outcomes of the Course : The students comprehend Ancient philosophy and science, and their influences.
Learn the influences of Ancient Greek philosophy and science on Medieval Islamic philosophy.
Realize that sources of Islamic philosophy are not only Ancient Greek philosophy but also the proper religious texts.

Aim(s) of Course : To determine the sources of philosophical thinking arisen in the Medieval Islamic World in terms of thoughts and works.

Course Contents : Ways of emergence of dispute between Parmenides and Heracleitos, Pythagoreanism, thoughts of Plato, Aristotelian science, Plotinian cosmology, Stoicism, and Alexanderian psychology in Islamic philosophers and their works.
