Learning Outcomes of the Course |

Recognizes vowel and consonant features in Turkish. Recognizes the transition among vowels and intervowels. Knows voiced - voiceless consonants and phonetic changes. Knows sound events like syncope, elision, vocalization, diphtong, contraction, assimilation, metathesis etc. Recognizes the differences of dialects among districts. Learns how to pronounce the sounds in dialects among districts. Knows local words and the meanings. Understands and analyzes texts in dialects.

Term of dialect; history of dialect studies; classification of Anatolia and Rumelia dialects; vowels and their features in dialects; consonants and their features in dialects; sound events related to vowels and consonants; inflections of noun and verb; determination of features of phonetics and morphology on dialect texts; determination of local words. |
