Knows the works, work properties of poets and literary life in 18th and 19th centuries.
Evaluates and analyzes Divan Poetry in 18th century.
Knows masnavis and Divan Prose of the 18th century
Knows the 19th century Turkish Literature.
Knows the works of poets and their literarary life in 19th century.
Analyzes examples of Divan Poetry of 19th century.
Knows the poems and properties of female poets in 19th century.

Aim(s) of Course : The general characteristics of Old Turkish Literature at second half of 18th century and 19th century; the life of Divan poets of these centuries; their literary personelities and information about their written works, reading, testing and explaining the sample written works that are written with old letters.

Course Contents : Lives, literary personalities and sample poems of Osmanzâde Tâib, Seyyid Vehbî and Kâmî. Lives, literary personalities and sample poems of Arpaeminizâde Sâmî, İzzet Ali Paşa and Nahîfî, İsmail Beliğ, Haşmet, Fıtnat, Neş’et, Sünbülzâde Vehbî, Kânî, Koca Râgıp Paşa and Enderunlu Fâzıl. Life, literary personality, works, sample poems of Şeyh Gâlip and The mesnevi of Şeyh Galip called Hüsn ü Aşk. Mesnevies and prose literature in 18th century. General characteristics of the Turkish literature in the 19th century.Lifes, literary personalities and sample poems of Leskofçalı Gâlip, Enderunlu Vâsıf, Keçecizâde İzzet Molla and Aynî, Osman Şems, Yenişehirli Avnî, Şeyhülislâm Arif Hikmet.
