Learning Outcomes of the Course : Knows the historical Khorezm Turkish and its works.
Knows the connection between old Turkish and Khwarezm Turkish.
Knows the historical dialects that were present at the same time with Khwarezm Turkish.
Knows the importance of the Khwarezm area as a transition point in the Turkish language history.
Recognizes the Khwarezm Turkish period in Turkish language history.
Knows that language is a carrier of culture.
Knows that the elements of language are not onlt literary.
Knows the phonology, morphology, and syntax of historical Khwarezm Turkish based on sample texts.
Is able to compare Khwarezm Turkish with its contemporary dialects, older dialects and present day dialects.

Aim(s) of Course : Familiarize Khwarezm Turkish with its grammatical characteristics and work in the history of Turkish Language.

Course Contents : The Khwarezm period in Turkish language history, the works of the period, phonology, morphology and vocabulary features of the period, distinguishing features from other periods, reference information, selected reading, phonetics, morphology and vocabulary studies given from exact copies of Nehcü´l-Feradis reading, comparison of previous periods, meaning-making, phonology, morphology and vocabulary studies of selected text from Rabguzi´nin Kısasü´l-Anbiya´s work, comparison of previous periods, meaning-making, selected reading, phonetics, morphology and vocabulary studies given from exact copies of the translations from Khwarezm Turkish Qur’an translation, the comparison with the prior periods, meaning-making, reading, phonology and morphology of selected text from Muinü´l-Mürid, comparison of previous periods , meaning-making, reading, phonology and morphology of selected text from Mukaddimetü´l-Edeb, the comparison with the prior periods, meaning-making.
