Knows the Chagatai, Azeri and Anatolian poets in 15th century.
Knows the prominent of representatives of Divan Poetry in 15th century.
Knows the literary personalities and works of 15th century Turkish Literature poets.
Analyzes examples of Divan Poetry of 15th century.
Knows the Divan Poetry of 15th century.
Is able to compare 15 century Divan poetry with poetry of other centuries.
Describes the language and stylistic features of Divan Poetry in 15th century.

Aim(s) of Course : Recognizing properties, representatives, and works of Old Turkish Literature based on an example to introduce the texts in 15th century.

Course Contents : The characteristics of Old Turkish Literature in 15th century; informations about written works; literary personalities and lives of important members of these years. General information on the prose of the era. 15th century’s written works and Mesnevis, and reading, understanding and examining these types of works. Evaluations of the literary personalities and the works of main poems of the century, such as Emîrî, Sekkakî, Lutfî, Mirzâ Haydar, Mirzâ Gedâyî, Yakînî, Atâyî, Sultan Hüseyin Baykara, Ali Şîr Nevâyî . Kâtibî, Bedr-i Şirvânî, Hakîkî (Cihânşâh Yûsuf), Hamîdî, Habîbî, Ahmed-i Dâi, Şeyhî, Ahmet Paşa, Necâtî, poet sultans: Murâdî (II. Murâd), Avnî (Fatih Sultan Mehmed), Adlî (II. Bayezid), Harîmî (Şehzâde Korkud), Cem poets: Sa‘dî-i Cem, Sirozlu Kandî, Sehâyî, Haydar Çelebi, La‘lî, Aynî, Şahîdî, Türâbî, İvâz Paşazâde Atâyî, Cemâlî, Karamanlı Nizâmî. Lives, literary personalities and works of Sarıca Kemal, Melîhî and Mesîhî, Ümmî Kemal, Eşrefoğlu Rûmî, Zeynep Hatun, Mihrî. 15th century Anatolia in the field of printed Mesnevis and prose literature.
