Learning Outcomes of the Course : Comprehends the ritualistic reasons behind the birth of the theatre
Comprehends the elements that contribute to the development of the ancient Greek Theatre and the ancient Greek theater buildings, warehouses, costumes, and dramatists.
Is able to compare the thoughts of Plato and Aristotle theatre
Comprehends the theatre of Roman Era.
Is able to analyze the political, social and cultural settings of the ancient Greek period.
Remembers the festivals and, cultural life of the Roman Era.
Is able to talk about the ideas philosophy of Plateau.

Aim(s) of Course : The aim is to convey students the theatre applications in all periods of the World Theatre from its first occurrence to the present day, staging formats and the theories developed as a result of these experiences, and create an awareness with all this information.

Course Contents : The origin of theatre, development of theatre in the ancient Greek and Roman periods, and examination of the theatre theories emerged in this period (Plato, Aristotle, their opinions about theater-art.).
