Aim(s) of Course : To investigate the major philosophers and philosophical trends in 17.-18. the cenury.

Course Contents : 17 th century is a period of rising rationalism and interaction of sciences with philosophy. How the methods result of science interpreted by philosophers like Descartes, Leibniz, Spinoza has been considered. Examination of topics in historical process with a problematic and sytematic approach has been aimed. Restriction of rationalism with experience and observation, the attempt of understanding of universe by means of senses and experience, studying views of philolsophers Locke, Berkeley and Hume in different problem areas in 18 th century, will be considered.
