Aim(s) of Course : To introduce basic theories of and approaches to translation, To translate different texts both from English and Turkish, To critically evaluate and to contrastively analyse errors in translation, To evaluate word choice and form, To learn the role and cultural aspect of translation in language teaching and learning, To discuss certain translation methods.

Course Contents : Different methods and sources of translation will be introduced and discussed. Skills, techniques, grammar, and the cultural and social differences between English and Turkish will be discussed.
