Learning Outcomes of the Course : Explain which disciplines of political science and International Relations are related to which subjects
Explain basic concepts and theories of political science and International Relations.
Explain the main actors in political life, the factors affecting forms of political participation.
Explain and define actors of international relations.
Describe the elements that direct foreign policies of states.

Aim(s) of Course : This course aims to refer to theories of International Relations and to evaluate contemporary issues.

Course Contents : In this course, emergence and development of International Relations as a different discipline, theories of International Relations, formation and development of nation-state, subjects such as main actors in international arena, war, peace, power, diplomacy and security will be discussed. At the same time basic concepts (power, authority, legitimacy, sovereignty, citizenship, state, nation, ethnicity, class) and main actors will be examined.
