Explains the basic concepts related to the education (learning, teaching, education, formal and informal education, curriculum, teaching program, syllabus etc.) Defines education types and gives examples. Explains education´s relationship with other sciences(Philosophy, sociology, Economy, Psychology and Law, etc...) as a science. Discusses the objectives and the functions of the education system. Explains the importance and the difficulties of carrying out a research in Educational Sciences. Becomes aware of the importance of teaching as a profession. Explains the duties and responsibilities of the teacher in a school and class environment. Discusses the features of a modern teacher. Analyzes the structure of Turkish education system. Becomes aware of the modern tendencies in educational sciences. Gives examples to the research methods used in educational sciences.
