Aim(s) of Course : This course is designed to analyse competing paradigms on development and to study development issues in the context of globalisation. These issues will be analysed with the aid of various outstanding articles on the subject.

Course Contents : In this course, Development and underdevelopment, Underdevelopment theories, Capital accumulation and technology, Financial of economic development, Economic development and population, human capital, employment, Economic development and foreign trade, Resources of distrubition, Economic development and industrialization strategies, Sustainable development, Development theories in crisis times, Economic development in the view of globalization, Poverty, Basic concepts and measurement of human development, capabilities approach and critics, Technologic development and inequity will be taught.
