Learning Outcomes of the Course : Explains the economic, social and political structure in ancient time.
Knows about the political thought in Christianity and Islam.
Describes the production relations and government -religion relationship in the middle-age.
Knows about the political thought in Renaissance and Reformation Periods.
Evaluates the industrial revolution.
Describes the philosophers of the early modern period.
Compares the political periods.
Evaluates the mode of production and its effects on the political thought.

Aim(s) of Course : The purpose of this course is to introduce the philosophers, groups of thinkers who have marked the history of political thought, understand their impact on today´s political and economic structures and realize how the present mode of production affects politics.

Course Contents : Political thought of Mesopotamia, Ancient Greece and Rome, Christian political thought in the Middle Age, Turkish and Islamic Political thought, developments in European political thought between the beginnings of Early Modern Age and 20th century.
