Learning Outcomes of the Course : Defines the subject and the principles of geography.
Classifies parts of geography.
Explains the basic concepts of mapping information.
Solves math questions related to geography.
Describes the structure of the Earth.
Compares the facts and the general characteristics of the world´s climate with the basic concepts of Climatology.
Describes the general characteristics of major land forms, the basic concepts and facts related to Geo-morphology.
Describes the basic concepts related to Hydrography, the general characteristics of groundwater, facts and Earth´s water cycle, surface water, lakes, seas, oceans.
Describes the basic concepts of geography, earth phenomena and the general characteristics of the main vegetation belts.

Aim(s) of Course : The aim of this course is to help the students to comprehend the general principles of physical geography by geography and understand the basic concepts and facts.

Course Contents : The content of this course include the definition of geography, subject matter, principles, sections, subject matters of Mathematical Geography, Cartography, Map reading, Geomorphology (Basic geological principles, fundamental knowledge on the structure of earth), hydro-graphs (rivers, springs, lakes and seas) Climatology (Climate Science, Pedogeography (formation, variation, distribution,soil problems, plant geography (habitat conditions, distributions).
